In a university town with 20 000 + students, it is
conceivable that there are many and diverse cultural activities presented and
staged. Stellenbosch has a heritage rich in history, architecture and
literature. A recent publication indicates that about 375 authors of books are
identified as personalities who have lived or are still living in this town!Around Stellenbosch you will find the majestic mountains, the rolling foothills with vineyards, the Eerste River flowing through lush valleys towards the nearby sea with the best sandy beaches only minutes away.
From the historical heart of Stellenbosch all this could be enjoyed - on foot, by car, on horseback. With some local assistance and knowledge it becomes a simple pleasure to plan and execute. And this is what we at Caledon Villa see as our contribution towards a meaningful and enjoyable stay in the Winelands.
Our best advice is: make Stellenbosch your base station from where you could visit all these attractions and many more. Cape Town is only 50 minutes away, and Cape Point not much further!
Perhaps the most important feature: Stellenbosch is a town, not a city. From Caledon Villa we go on foot to the restaurants in the evenings and come back home totally relaxed in a safe and refined atmosphere.
